Account and learning preferences
PianoSpark is developed by Roderikus Rolando / NoLab. Email sign-in, Google, and Sign in with Apple process your email address, account identifier, display name and profile photo when provided. Apple may supply a Private Relay address. Your learning goal, daily practice target, curriculum progress, scores, XP, streaks and coach preferences help provide and synchronize piano practice. An unfinished onboarding draft is stored on your device for your account.
Microphone, MIDI and device permissions
Microphone permission is optional and supports acoustic pitch detection. Raw microphone samples for this feature are processed transiently on your device rather than uploaded for pitch detection. MIDI input contains musical note, timing and velocity events; recording a MIDI performance creates note-event data, not a microphone recording. Bluetooth connects compatible MIDI instruments. Local-network access supports the optional MIDI/DAW bridge. You can revoke permissions in device settings; affected features may stop working.
Music, AI and community content
Prompts, musical preferences and relevant practice context that you submit to online AI features are sent to our backend and the model provider used for that request. Generated music and saved scores may be stored with your account. Do not include sensitive personal information in prompts. When you publish a song or use public rankings, your chosen display name, scores and shared content may be visible to others. Reports, blocked-user preferences and moderation actions are processed for safety. Publishing is separate from keeping a private local practice record.
Service providers and international processing
Supabase supplies authentication, databases and cloud storage. Cloudflare supplies hosting and API processing. Online AI requests may be processed by the configured model service, including Xiaomi MiMo or Kilo, depending on the feature and active configuration. Apple and Google provide optional sign-in and their respective store services. Requests may be processed outside your country. Providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies; we send the information needed to perform the requested function.
Purchases and subscription verification
Apple or Google handles payment details. PianoSpark processes product identifiers, signed purchase evidence or purchase tokens, original and individual transaction identifiers, expiry, renewal, grace, refund and revocation status, and the link between a store transaction and your PianoSpark account. This verifies access and restores purchases. We do not receive your card number or CVV.
Security, diagnostics and tracking
Network services may process IP addresses, installation/device identifiers, app version, integrity signals, error codes and request logs for reliability, fraud prevention and abuse controls. Personal progress and interaction records support learning features. The app does not use IDFA/GAID for advertising, sell personal information, or combine activity across other companies’ apps for advertising tracking. We do not request your GPS location, contacts or SMS for piano practice. Appropriate access controls and secure platform storage protect authentication credentials; ordinary preferences may remain in a local cache.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and learning data while needed to operate your account and the features you use. Deleting your account removes the account and associated service data; local account caches are cleared by the app. Safety records may be retained in anonymized form. Necessary billing, security and legally required records, provider-controlled records and backups may follow separate retention processes. We do not promise immediate deletion from every backup or from Apple and Google’s own systems.
Your choices and data requests
You can edit your display name, change learning preferences, revoke device permissions, and request access, correction or deletion by contacting support@nolab.dev. Use Settings > Delete Account in the app, or the account-deletion page linked below if you cannot sign in. We may verify ownership before acting; never send a password, verification code or payment card information. Requests are reviewed under applicable data-protection rights.
Young users
PianoSpark is a general-audience learning service for people aged 13 or over, not an app directed at children under 13. Where local law requires parental permission, obtain it before using the service. Contact us if you believe a younger child’s personal information has been provided so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Policy changes
